Our Goal
To build a creative hub in the heart of Frankston where people can celebrate, connect, and create.
Driven by passion and purpose
For the last 3 years Frankston Craft Club has delivered one off workshops, programs, and creative installations across Frankston and the Mornington Peninsula.
There is significant joy in facilitating across Community Centres, Various Venues, and being welcomed into Peoples Homes; but recently we’ve felt the sting of not being able to offer our own brand of hospitality.
A place where we can test new concepts, play with our facilitation style, and offer more services we think would be beneficial to the community.
What about your current workshops?
As we’ve sought out opportunities to grow, save, and build towards the goal of a space, we’ve had to intentionally pull away from our monthly community workshops as they operate on a breakeven financial structure.
Having an affordable workshop series is not something I will ever compromise on, but unfortunately has been in direct competition with the goal of saving. This is why for the most part of this year I’ve put the energy I would usually put into facilitating our workshops into finding new revenue streams for the business.
I’m happy to announce that we will be returning to monthly community workshops across Karingal PLACE and Bayside Makerspace shortly. Check our home page for upcoming events.
watch our
savings
goal grow!
Talking about money can feel icky (especially in a cost of living crisis that has impacted our community), and publicly sharing a goal of saving money also feels scary. But if you’ve attended one of my workshops, you’d know that I always encourage you to embrace the process, and this is me taking my own advice.
I'm choosing to be open about where we're at, the goals we're working towards, and the future we're trying to build. Growth isn't always glamorous, and sometimes it means taking a step back so you can move forward with intention.
Ways you can support our goal…
If you'd like to help us open the doors to this new space a little sooner, we've put together a few simple ways you can support the journey. Every little bit helps, and we're so grateful to have such a wonderful creative community behind us.
